Experience (most recent first):

Employed:

  • Care Fertility - Nottingham - Sessional Counsellor (February 2014-February 2017)Counselling individuals and couples (both heterosexual and same-sex couples) with fertility issues including implications of treatment sessions (i.e. egg/sperm donation). 
 
  • Central Nottinghamshire MIND - Mansfield - Counsellor Coordinator (June 2013-October 2014) Counselling clients aged 18+ with mental health issues.  Carrying out assessments to ascertain clients needs and matching clients to volunteers.  Support and supervision of volunteers along with matching clients and volunteers.

  • SYEDA (South Yorkshire Eating Disorders Association) - Sheffield - Counselling Coordinator (November 2010-January 2012).  Counselling clients and carers with mild to moderate eating disorders which includes anorexia, bulimia and binge-eating.   Assessments to ascertain clients and carers needs for their support requirements.


Self-Employed:


Private counselling practice (since January 2010) - I currently now work full time in private practice being able to provide flexibility to appointments and commitment to supporting people.

I support individuals and couples from my own home in a safe and comfortable environment. 

I have also been counselling individuals and couples through EAP's (Employee Assistance Providers) and local employers on a short term basis (i.e. up to 6 sessions).  My EAP work also includes carrying out Mandatory Supervision Sessions for Public Protection Police Officers at Nottinghamshire Police and Derbyshire Constabulary.

  • New College Nottingham (Sept 2007-June 2008) counselling A'Level/BTEC students in connection with college workload, deadlines, exams, relationships, friendships, eating issues, anxiety, depression, OCD.
